About Us
Red Wing Aeroplane Co. is a full-service Certified Repair Station (CRS# R3WR714J) with an unlimited class 3 airframe repair rating.  We offer maintenance, repair, overhaul, and servicing on private and corporate aircraft. Co-owners, Bob Converse and his son, Wes Converse, have a combined 75 years of experience in aircraft maintenance.

In 1990, Bob and Wes, avid pilots, built a small hanger at Red Wing Municipal Airport, Bay City, Wisconsin to house their plane. The word spread quickly that Bob and Wes were qualified mechanics and soon they were working on the personal planes of pilots that used the municipal airport.

In 1992, Red Wing Aeroplane Co. was incorporated and Bob and Wes expanded the hanger with a specialized shop while adding an office.

In 1994, they received the Certified Repair Station (CRS) status from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

As the business grew, the father and son team expanded their special services and equipment to handle the diverse needs of their customers and their aircraft, from small single engine piston propeller aircraft to small executive business jets.

In January 2004, Red Wing Aeroplane Co. expanded their facilities once again. Their new 12,000+ square foot shop meets the needs of customers from the Twin Cities/metro area and outer Minnesota to surrounding Western Wisconsin.
